Stewart Bremner

Edinburgh-based artist Stewart Bremner has been creating distinctively graphic work for almost two decades. His early, somewhat brash pop art pieces have given way to more restrained work in recent years. These use a range of sophisticated colour palettes, taking inspiration from mid-twentieth century design – in particular railway posters – to among other things highlight the beauty of the Scottish landscape.

A similar transition has taken place in the media Stewart uses. From beginnings on paper and canvas, he currently works with a digital pen and tablet, which has proven to be surprisingly adaptable.

Stewart’s work combines a good eye for detail with a creative flair for colour. His passion for Scotland’s scenery and culture is reflected in his vibrant work.
