Artist Biography
I am a visual & teaching artist working at Tantallon Arts & Crafts Studios near North Berwick. My work is inspired by the ever-changing skies over Edinburgh and East Lothian.
Working with ceramics and photography, I create my small ceramic paintings on tiles and dishes using clay slip mixed with various coloured underglazes. Painting with clay produces quite unique results. I also use photography to produce my ceramic transfers of seabirds and landmarks that I also use in my work. My work is based on a desire to connect us with a special memory or place.
Although I specialise in producing highly individual hand-painted ceramic tiles, I also work digitally to produce prints and cards from my ceramic designs.
