Chris Sharp Artist Biography
Chris spent his early years in Africa and on returning to Aberdeen attended Robert Gordon's School. On leaving school Chris spent two years at Aberdeen College of Commerce studying graphic design. He then went to Grays School of Art and studied sculpture and fine art for four years. He has worked as a professional artist since 1983.
Chris is a keen fisherman and outdoor sportsman and brings this passion to his art. He specialises in the area of field sports and game fishing - in particular salmon fishing. His very impressive attention to detail, factual representation and fine workmanship is based on his keen personal interest in all of that which he paints. His paintings capture a fleeting moment in nature, the stag on the hill, the salmon in the pool, the bird on the wing and all of the landscape or environment done to the same exacting standard.
He sells his work extensively through gallery exhibitions as well as individual commissions. He has an impressive list of patrons including multi-corporate businesses and British peerage. His work can often be seen gracing the covers of well known sporting magazines.
