Artist Biography
Tony is a native of Gateshead and now lives in Whitely Bay. He is a graduate of Newcastle University and worked for many years in the engineering industry.
He has always been active as an amateur painter but eventually enrolled in a Fine Art course at Newcastle College and Northumbria University. He is a long-standing member of the North of Eng-er-lund Art Club. He concentrates mainly on acrylic painting and collage, frequently combining both. He has developed an interesting series of collage works using only newspaper and ink.
He has exhibited extensively throughout the country and has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Staniland award twice. His work has been purchased throughout the world, not only by private collectors but also corporate companies, The University of Northumbria, The Beamish Museum and The House of Lords.
